My student room | My purchases; lovely candle holders and more!

I am back in Wageningen again and therefore I finally have time to write some blog posts! I had a very nice, lovely, great, amazing, happy, unfortunately not never ending weekend and I did 'some' (but it becomes closer to reality when you call it 'a lot') shopping at my favourite store with my boyfriend. I came home with a lot of candles holders. I just counted the candles holders  and found out I bought seven (!) of them! But it was my intention to buy them, so I let's just don't blame myself this time for buying so much. First I could not find a nice one, but when we walked nearly to the end of the store (it is huge by the way, it takes more than an hour to walk by everything when you really want to take a look at things), some candles holders finally catched my eye. It was very cute to see all those Christmas lights, trees, almost-real-looking-snow and hear the well-known Christmas songs. (Really something you should do by the way: Intratuin around Christmas!) Could a girl be happier? Shopping, holding your boyfriends hand ánd walking in a kind of winter-christmas-land with so much home accessories. I just did not know where to look at! Luckily my boyfriend has a lot of patience, so we stayed there for more than two hours (I really appreciate that darling). Besides the candles holders I also bought a photo frame (I wanted to buy four of them for the hearts of my family and him, but I found out that was becoming way to expensive so I decided to buy one and fill my room with just one heart of my lovely soul mate), three decoration hearts and a big pinecone. So enough talking for today, lets show you the pictures and give you a nice impression of my purchases. Happy!

Want to see how I will put it all together and how I give all the accessories a nice place in my room? Keep an eye on my blog and I will show you in one of my following posts! I promise it will be coming soon!

My future home | Ruffle duvet cover, mine mine mine!

After such a long time, finally a post in the 'my future home' topic! I have been searching for such a long time for a duvet cover that suited my room! I really think it was the hardest thing to do, finding a suitable duvet cover. It takes a huge place in your room, so it has to be suiting the rest of your room! When searching, I landed on this really nice duvet cover (see a picture when you click on the [...] symbol) Way to expensive, but maybe something for later right? It really gives a cute and romantic touch to your bedroom. You can buy it / find it here!

What do you think? Do you like this duvet cover? Is it something you would love to have in your room and what kind of duvet cover do you have in your room?

My student room | DIY let's make them draw a heart

I was actually a little surprised of myself, when at one moment something just 'flew' into my head. When I thought of it, I actually knew where it came from. I love my boyfriend's drawn hearts. Why? Because they are his! They are pretty on their own way, full of love and not really 'made because he tried a thousand times'. Yes they often are not symmetrical and maybe a little misshaped, but still they are the most beautiful hearts I know. The thing I like the most is that he really puts a lot of effort in it, willing to make them more and more symmetrical and looking like mine. But sweetheart, don't do that! They are beautiful!

Back to where I was! I invented something which I am really going to share with you. This is also for every girl who stands on her own feet (maybe for not quite that long) and wants to 'bring some loved ones to home'. How? By letting them draw a personal heart. A heart from the heart. A heart made with love, for you, and on someone's his own way. The only thing you have to do is to persuade your daddy to draw you a heart (which is way to girly of course) too!

What is needed for this DIY?
  • Photo frames
  • Strong paper
  • A permanent marker
  • Your loved ones
  • No drawing-talent

Buy the number of photo frames you are going need and some really strong paper. You can buy the same photo frames, or buy all kinds of photo frames if you like that more. (Maybe you succeed in suiting different photo frames with everyone's personality). Next to the photo frames and paper, you are going to need something to draw with. I have bought a permanent marker, but you can also buy all different colours of markers or even paint if you like that. Then put your loved ones (parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, boyfriends, friends and so on) around the table and let them draw one single heart on their own way. Make sure they are not cheating by looking at the hearts everyone will be drawing! Then collect all the hearts that are made, put them in their photo frames and give them a nice place in your room! Smile guaranteed!

Already enthusiastic about this idea? Are you already planning to make this little crazy idea become reality? Let me know when you are going to do this by yourself! I would also really like it to receive some pictures of the result when you are finished! I will make sure I give your pictures a nice place on my blog!

My student room | A winterproof room with a new thing on my withslist: candles holders!

I could barely prevent it: writing another post about the winter and the ambiance it brings. Wait a minute. I could not prevent it, because here it is. Don't forget to look a little closer at the pictures below! The pictures are also very usable and handy for some how-to-make-your-room-cosy-and-ready-to-warm-you-up-in-the-consecutive-cold-days-called-winter-inspiration!

It happened again. I think I have to drag my boyfriend to the home-styling-living-furniture-shops for the 10th (or more?) time. I was sitting on the couch, with my boyfriend his family and him, when I saw those little candles flickering in the cornor of the living room. His mum bought them and I just loved the moment, the scene and the light of the candles just made it perfect. So there came another thing on my little (which has already became big, huge, giant) wishlist: little, sweet, loving candle holders. I have something in mind, I hope I can find it. I was very surprised that I don't alreay have candles in my room! I just love it, so why not? I think it is something from the old days: my dad used to forbid me lightening candles in my room because he thought it was kind of dangereous. So, here I am, being a little bit afraid of candles in my room. But I do love the ambiance it brings and really does makes me feel happy! So, lovely boyfriend of me, what do you think? Shall we go? This weekend maybe? Enthusiastic as I am, it will be no surprise if I come home with a huge collection of candles holders! Don't you become enthusiastic when you see these photo's below this post? Oke, it is really clear now: I am just looking forward to those cold winter days; blankets, candles, tea, pyjamas, movies, fireplace and all time to hide myself in the arms of my little angel (how romantic!)

What about you? Do you love the winter season or are you already waiting for the summer again? I would also love to hear recommandations or suggestions for my following blog posts! Do you guys like to read more about me, more about concrete things to buy, more things for inspiration? Please let me know and have a good night!

My student life | How I attend college. You can call it 'college from a different perspective'

I just attended a lecture of sociology from my laptop screen. Huh? Yes, I am home attending college, sitting on my beacy couch, drinking some tea, wearing my most comfortable clothes and surrounded by blankets. What does a girl need more? This morning there were a lot of problems with the railways, and therefore I could not get the train I always have and decided to attend my college from my room (although I actually could have made it to attend the lecture at University, but this is so much more relaxing). Yesterday, I had a very nice, relaxing and lovely day with my boyfriend which made me felt so great! We just spent a lot time sleeping, watching television, eating a lot and we also made a big ride by bike. Just a us-day (or 'ons dagje' is how we call it in Dutch). So, having a kind of break during my lecture I made some pictures of this nice and cosy scene and posted one below.

Do you girls or guys (sorry I sometimes only say guys, but that is just a simplification for the times I actually mean 'you all') have to attend college today? Did you had a nice weekend and do you like taking a ride by bike once in a while too?

My student life | I have got a litte bit of a huge addiction to bags

It is Friday evening and I am spending time on the couch next to my daddy. Home sweet home is what they call it right? Our purpose was to see each other tonight, but my boyfriend and I decided to meet each other tomorrow! We both had a long day and he is also a little bit sick. One positive thing: now we can both look forward to tomorrow! Sweetheart, if you read this, I love you! But enough about today, let's tell you guys about my bags-addiction. I have to admit, I have a huge addiction to bags (and I think my boyfriend and friends can agree with that too). I love to vary with bags I use, so I use several different bags during the week and I have a lot of them laying in my closet. I was searching on the internet, when I saw this bag. I think it was love at first sight! Something I will definitely put on my wishlist. You can see a photo of this bag when you click on the [...] symbol to watch this full post). Do you want to buy this bag? You can buy it here for 99 euro's: http://www.detassensite.nl/leren-laptoptas/prod_198.html

What do you think of this bag? I am also looking for a very simple and black bag (I prefer leather and with zipper), does anyone of you have a good idea or knows a bag that fits this little requirements?

My student life | Oh happy day

Hang on a little tighter to your chair or couch, because here is another way too enthusiastic blog post again! I am so happy! Today I got my second and last grade for social psychology and I passed it with a 8.5 (I don't know how they call it according to the English or American school system, so let's just keep it in Dutch), just the same grade as I got for the introduction of public health! I am not only happy with such great grades, but is also means I got my first twelve (already!) credits! Next to that, it is already Thursday evening, which means tomorrow I will finally see my boyfriend and family again. I am looking forward to jump in my boyfriend's arms and falling to sleep together. Sometimes it seems like I am away for so many days! Before I forget to tell you, I have a little report of this very busy day! This morning, I had my presentation (and I did not prepare anything because that was my learning goal; something I really wanted to achieve was to give a presentation without preparing anything, so I came up with a very personal subject (moving to Wageningen) and just improvised something as I stood there in front of eight other people) and it went very well! After that, I went home and prepared and ate a delicious lunch. Right after the lunch, I went upstairs, worked on my report about the two presentations I gave (a reflection), and jumped in bed just to have some time for myself when I fell asleep for more than an hour. I woke up, right before I had to go to college (just a few minutes before) and I saw that I had received an e-mail, which turned out to be an e-mail with all grades of social psychology! When I saw I had made it with a 8.5, nothing could tear down my day! I left with a happy face. This evening, after I had my little dinner, I had a very relaxing and cosy evening with my roommates on the couch and now I am going to put on my pyjamas, remove my make-up and brush my teeth before I will jump in my second best friend. Have a good night and 'see' you soon!

Do you love taking a little nap in the afternoon as much as I do? (When you are feeling so tired and your bed looks so comfortable and it seems like he is calling you?) And do you recognize getting so happy from hearing you passed your exam?

My student room | Something you've got to see!

I came up again with something I definitely have to blog about! When I found this on the internet, I immediately got the feeling that I had to share this with you. Via Martine is a very new web shop invented and designed by (which is very obvious) Martine. The idea is that you can turn your Instagram pictures into something tangible (touchable). From a simple post card, to a real-looking polaroid photograph or a magnet. It is just so cool! I almost ordered something, when I thought 'maybe I should take some time thinking about what I really want and which pictures I am going to use'! But ofcourse, this is something that you can really use to personalize your room a bit more with something unique and something that is really you! For example with the polaroid photographs, you can just stick them to your wall (as you can see on the picture below) but you can also buy a wooden plank and nail them to the plank! It is also so much fun just to make a photobook with all those polaroid photographes with your friends or just from random Instagram pictures, so you have your life in one single book! Already curious? You can find her web shop very easy when you just go to www.viamartine.com!

Do you have some other ideas about using these polaroid photographs as styling for a room? I am really curious about what you guys think, so please leave a comment if you want to!

My student life | I love the mornings I stand up with a big smile, just for nothing

This morning (oke, almost afternoon), I stood up (or actually opened my eyes because standing up I did with less of a smile) with a big smile on my face! It is very weird, but my nights are so much better here than they are at home with my parents! This makes me think, this has really become my 'first' home (and with my parents and sister my second home)! I am just happy with waking up after such a good night in my own (yes it is mine, so special!) little room and home. Yesterday I had a very good vollyball practice with a very good ambiance! Everybody was enthusiastic and I learned a lot of new things. It was the second best practice I have had in all these weeks here in Wageningen. To be clear, it was Ladies 2 which is not my own team but I am playing games and training once in a week with them (and I actually like it very much)! For now, I will go to study for sociology and then take a shower and make myself a lovely breakfast! I hope you all have a good morning too! Have a nice day!

Do you have those mornings when you just are happy because you slept so well? When you stand up with a happy feeling and smile? And do you love breakfast and showering and having your own little home (if you have that) as much as I do?

My student life | Who is your little angel?

Today I will be very honest to you. I always write about my shiny life and how great everything went, but today is not a really good day. My mind is full of so many things. Besides my mind being a mess, the upcoming week is going to be the most busy weeks I have ever had and school is not going good this day (read it as 'very bad'). My intention was to do a lot of things, but everything seems so difficult and I have the feeling that I will not be able to pass my exams this time (although they are in a few weeks so I have a lot of time left to prepare). Every single point of my to-do-list seems out of reach (like I am not able to do that). Economics is just so much harder than it was at high school and sociology just seems to make everything more complicated than it is and is very vague. So, I was being very sad, grumpy and feeling like I had no energy when I got this messages from my boyfriend. He cheered me up in less than a few minutes. He just knew how to cheer me up, he knew exactly what to say and he also sent me so many sweet words. His advice was: 'leave things for what they are and go enjoy this evening with your parents and sister, sweetheart'. It is true. With all those negative things going on in my mind, I will not be able to be efficient and finish a lot of things for school. So why not focus on the good things and enjoy this little time with my family that is left? He is my little sunshine, my little angle, my rock and my support. He always finds a way to make time for me! Now that I am writing this message, it immediately becomes clear that he is spending so much time cheering me up while he has so little time left for his exams tomorrow! What am I doing? I have to support HIM! So I will stop writing this post pretty soon, put a smile on my face, leave my books for what they are and support him instead of thinking about my own little drama! Everything will be okay, enough time left to spend on these two school subjects.

Who is your little angel? Is there someone who can also turn you into happy in just a second? Someone who always knows how to cheer you up and really puts a lot of effort in really doing that?

My student mind | Hello November!

It is almost freezing (or at least very cold) outside, my windows are fogged and my third best friend (after my boyfriend and bed), called my cellphone, indicates '1 november' at his little screen. It just happened. November 2013 is here. Time for me to lay another seconds in my bed, just to enjoy the cosy and warm feeling I get from him. After getting myself out of bed, I make a little dance. November means almost December and that really is my most favorite month. Especially because this year I also go on a holiday, to Rome! Yes, I don't like it being so cold outside, but everything else about December is just wonderful. I just love the cozyness, warmth, christmaslights, candels, blankets, tea and so much more that lovely December gives. I just love the ambiance! I want to hug my boyfriend just a little more, I want to stay in my bed for just some extra minutes and I want to enjoy the shower just a little bit more! Besides that, there is no such lovely thing as the fireplace. For me, fireplace is December and December is the fireplace. Besides the fireplace and all the other things I mentioned, there are all those lovely happenings in December: Christmas, Saint Nicolas and last but not least the celebration of the new year. This time already 2014! Time flies! I am just going to count the days and for now enjoy the days of November too.

What is your favorite month? Do you recognize everything I have said and do you love December as much as I do? Let me know!
