My student room | My purchases; lovely candle holders and more!

I am back in Wageningen again and therefore I finally have time to write some blog posts! I had a very nice, lovely, great, amazing, happy, unfortunately not never ending weekend and I did 'some' (but it becomes closer to reality when you call it 'a lot') shopping at my favourite store with my boyfriend. I came home with a lot of candles holders. I just counted the candles holders  and found out I bought seven (!) of them! But it was my intention to buy them, so I let's just don't blame myself this time for buying so much. First I could not find a nice one, but when we walked nearly to the end of the store (it is huge by the way, it takes more than an hour to walk by everything when you really want to take a look at things), some candles holders finally catched my eye. It was very cute to see all those Christmas lights, trees, almost-real-looking-snow and hear the well-known Christmas songs. (Really something you should do by the way: Intratuin around Christmas!) Could a girl be happier? Shopping, holding your boyfriends hand ánd walking in a kind of winter-christmas-land with so much home accessories. I just did not know where to look at! Luckily my boyfriend has a lot of patience, so we stayed there for more than two hours (I really appreciate that darling). Besides the candles holders I also bought a photo frame (I wanted to buy four of them for the hearts of my family and him, but I found out that was becoming way to expensive so I decided to buy one and fill my room with just one heart of my lovely soul mate), three decoration hearts and a big pinecone. So enough talking for today, lets show you the pictures and give you a nice impression of my purchases. Happy!

Want to see how I will put it all together and how I give all the accessories a nice place in my room? Keep an eye on my blog and I will show you in one of my following posts! I promise it will be coming soon!

My future home | Ruffle duvet cover, mine mine mine!

After such a long time, finally a post in the 'my future home' topic! I have been searching for such a long time for a duvet cover that suited my room! I really think it was the hardest thing to do, finding a suitable duvet cover. It takes a huge place in your room, so it has to be suiting the rest of your room! When searching, I landed on this really nice duvet cover (see a picture when you click on the [...] symbol) Way to expensive, but maybe something for later right? It really gives a cute and romantic touch to your bedroom. You can buy it / find it here!

What do you think? Do you like this duvet cover? Is it something you would love to have in your room and what kind of duvet cover do you have in your room?

My student room | DIY let's make them draw a heart

I was actually a little surprised of myself, when at one moment something just 'flew' into my head. When I thought of it, I actually knew where it came from. I love my boyfriend's drawn hearts. Why? Because they are his! They are pretty on their own way, full of love and not really 'made because he tried a thousand times'. Yes they often are not symmetrical and maybe a little misshaped, but still they are the most beautiful hearts I know. The thing I like the most is that he really puts a lot of effort in it, willing to make them more and more symmetrical and looking like mine. But sweetheart, don't do that! They are beautiful!

Back to where I was! I invented something which I am really going to share with you. This is also for every girl who stands on her own feet (maybe for not quite that long) and wants to 'bring some loved ones to home'. How? By letting them draw a personal heart. A heart from the heart. A heart made with love, for you, and on someone's his own way. The only thing you have to do is to persuade your daddy to draw you a heart (which is way to girly of course) too!

What is needed for this DIY?
  • Photo frames
  • Strong paper
  • A permanent marker
  • Your loved ones
  • No drawing-talent

Buy the number of photo frames you are going need and some really strong paper. You can buy the same photo frames, or buy all kinds of photo frames if you like that more. (Maybe you succeed in suiting different photo frames with everyone's personality). Next to the photo frames and paper, you are going to need something to draw with. I have bought a permanent marker, but you can also buy all different colours of markers or even paint if you like that. Then put your loved ones (parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, boyfriends, friends and so on) around the table and let them draw one single heart on their own way. Make sure they are not cheating by looking at the hearts everyone will be drawing! Then collect all the hearts that are made, put them in their photo frames and give them a nice place in your room! Smile guaranteed!

Already enthusiastic about this idea? Are you already planning to make this little crazy idea become reality? Let me know when you are going to do this by yourself! I would also really like it to receive some pictures of the result when you are finished! I will make sure I give your pictures a nice place on my blog!

My student room | A winterproof room with a new thing on my withslist: candles holders!

I could barely prevent it: writing another post about the winter and the ambiance it brings. Wait a minute. I could not prevent it, because here it is. Don't forget to look a little closer at the pictures below! The pictures are also very usable and handy for some how-to-make-your-room-cosy-and-ready-to-warm-you-up-in-the-consecutive-cold-days-called-winter-inspiration!

It happened again. I think I have to drag my boyfriend to the home-styling-living-furniture-shops for the 10th (or more?) time. I was sitting on the couch, with my boyfriend his family and him, when I saw those little candles flickering in the cornor of the living room. His mum bought them and I just loved the moment, the scene and the light of the candles just made it perfect. So there came another thing on my little (which has already became big, huge, giant) wishlist: little, sweet, loving candle holders. I have something in mind, I hope I can find it. I was very surprised that I don't alreay have candles in my room! I just love it, so why not? I think it is something from the old days: my dad used to forbid me lightening candles in my room because he thought it was kind of dangereous. So, here I am, being a little bit afraid of candles in my room. But I do love the ambiance it brings and really does makes me feel happy! So, lovely boyfriend of me, what do you think? Shall we go? This weekend maybe? Enthusiastic as I am, it will be no surprise if I come home with a huge collection of candles holders! Don't you become enthusiastic when you see these photo's below this post? Oke, it is really clear now: I am just looking forward to those cold winter days; blankets, candles, tea, pyjamas, movies, fireplace and all time to hide myself in the arms of my little angel (how romantic!)

What about you? Do you love the winter season or are you already waiting for the summer again? I would also love to hear recommandations or suggestions for my following blog posts! Do you guys like to read more about me, more about concrete things to buy, more things for inspiration? Please let me know and have a good night!

My student life | How I attend college. You can call it 'college from a different perspective'

I just attended a lecture of sociology from my laptop screen. Huh? Yes, I am home attending college, sitting on my beacy couch, drinking some tea, wearing my most comfortable clothes and surrounded by blankets. What does a girl need more? This morning there were a lot of problems with the railways, and therefore I could not get the train I always have and decided to attend my college from my room (although I actually could have made it to attend the lecture at University, but this is so much more relaxing). Yesterday, I had a very nice, relaxing and lovely day with my boyfriend which made me felt so great! We just spent a lot time sleeping, watching television, eating a lot and we also made a big ride by bike. Just a us-day (or 'ons dagje' is how we call it in Dutch). So, having a kind of break during my lecture I made some pictures of this nice and cosy scene and posted one below.

Do you girls or guys (sorry I sometimes only say guys, but that is just a simplification for the times I actually mean 'you all') have to attend college today? Did you had a nice weekend and do you like taking a ride by bike once in a while too?
